Emily Lloyd Smith AThR

I am an art therapist and vocal coach with over a decade of experience in therapeutic practice and education. I specialise in creating safe spaces for vulnerability and growth, offering both art therapy and trauma-informed singing lessons from my Marrickville studio or online.

I am person-centred and flexible in my approach, meaning no two sessions look exactly the same. Although I take my work extremely seriously, I make space for humour and fun in the therapy room (lots of space).

My special interest areas:

  • Attachment trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • ADHD/autistic women (questioning or diagnosed)

  • Relationship therapy

  • Parent coaching and support

  • Chronic stress and burnout recovery

  • Singing after trauma, anxiety or abuse

My practice incorporates:

  • Visual art therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Attachment-based therapy

  • Trauma-informed practice

  • Neuroaffirming care

About me

Moving up from Melbourne 10 years ago, I now live in the Inner West with my husband, toddler, two stepsons, two dogs, two cats and two fish. I grew up with a queer parent and have lived experience of ADHD and PMDD. I sing in a band and enjoy puzzles, bushwalking, shark movies and taking on elaborate gingerbread projects.
